Lt. Gen. Karl Gingrich, deputy Army chief of staff for resources and plans, G-8, will speak May 21 at a Coffee Series event hosted by the Association of the U.S. Army.

The in-person event will take place at AUSA headquarters in Arlington, Virginia. The event opens at 6:30 a.m. Eastern with registration, coffee and networking. The program is scheduled to begin at 7:15 a.m.

It is free for military members, government employees and the media.

During the Coffee Series, Gingrich will discuss the pressure of tight Army budgets and the impact on the service’s modernization portfolio. He also will talk about investments the Army is making in current and future capabilities and the G-8’s role in supporting the Army’s continuous transformation.

Gingrich, who has been in the job since February, previously was director of Program Analysis and Evaluation in the office of the Army G-8, where for more than four years he assessed, evaluated and synchronized Army programmatic actions to ensure senior Army leaders had the facts they needed to implement critical policy and resourcing decisions.

Commissioned from Temple University as an armor officer, Gingrich has served in Afghanistan and Iraq.
