Come help us celebrate the 248th Birthday of the United States Army on Saturday, June 3, at 5:30pm at the Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza (4445 Main Street, Kansas City, MO 64111)
We will begin our evening with a reception at 5:30pm, followed by a program filled with pride, patriotism, and respect for an institution older than the nation itself. We will honor all those who have served, as well as recognize the sacrifices of those Soldiers and their families who have given their all. This year is also the 50th Anniversary of the All-Volunteer Army.
Our distinguished military speaker for the evening is Lieutenant General Milford Beagle, Jr., Commanding General of the U.S. Army Combined Arms Center, Commandant of the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College and Deputy Commanding General for Combined Arms, US Army Training and Doctrine Command.. LTG Beagle’s previous com-mands include the 10th Mountain Division, the US Army Training Center at Fort Jackson, and the 193rd Infantry Brigade.
As a highlight of our celebration, we will present the Colonel Roger H. C. Donlon Patriot Award to Mrs. Holly Petraeus. Mrs. Petraeus is a retired Assistant Director at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau where she headed up the Office of Service Member Affairs. The office partners with the Pentagon to see that military families receive a strong financial education and coordinates efforts of federal and state agencies regarding consumer protection measures for military families. Her work at the CFPB centered around educating service members on sound financial management and protecting them against predatory lending and cons.
