Today we got to hear how the U.S. federal government has civil service positions (civilians) that are equivalent to general officer or flag officer rank in the Armed Forces. These positions are called Senior Executive Service (SES) employees. We got to meet the top SES at the Cyber Center of Excellence (CCOE), Mr. Robert (Bob) Kazimer, the Deputy to the CCOE Commanding General. Mr. Kazimer will share his amazing military background, his duties & responsibilities as the Deputy, and the importance of the Civilian Employment program within the military.

It's no Secret - Mental Illness has no boundaries! You can find it in our local communities as well as within the perimeter of our military installations. This month, COL Carlene Blanding, Commander, DDEAMC, and a panel of medical professionals from Fort Gordon, will discuss how the Department of Defense and her team are getting after Mental Illness and implementing programs to help promote positive mental health for all Service Members and their Families. Join us as we learn more about this silent illness from detection to prevention.

AUSA Ft. Gordon Chapter's Annual Golf Tournament to be held on Sept 10, 2021

The Greater Augusta-Fort Gordon Chapter of the Association of the United States Anny (AUSA) annual golf tournament fundraiser will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021 (rain date is Monday, September 13, 2021). As always, the tournament will be held at the beautiful Gordon Lakes Golf Course on Fort Gordon, home of the Cyber Center of Excellence.

Today we had the pleasure of exploring how the U.S. Navy Tenth Fleet changed their seafaring direction from anti-submarines to anti-cyber threats and eventually made port in Augusta, Georgia. Navy Captain Dominic Lovello, Commanding Officer of the Navy Information Operations Command - Georgia and Combined Task Force 1050 was a wonderful guest speaker.

2021 Scholarship Application & Information

The Greater Augusta-Fort Gordon AUSA Chapter's 2020 College Scholarship application is now open. The local chapter of AUSA is offering up to three $2,000 scholarships for Active Duty or Reserve Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine or direct family member (Spouse or child). The scholarship is to be used during the 2020-2021 academic year and the money can be used for Tuition, Fees, and Books!!

Also NEW this year we are introducing the Carol and Ev Greenwood Memorial Scholarship. A $1,000 scholarship awarded to one eligible 
participant for tuition, fees, or books for the 2021-2022 academic year seeking to pursue a career within the electrical industry.
