AUSA Webinar Focuses on Army Cyber Priorities

Two people talking at a panel

Two of the Army’s top cyber officials will speak March 12 during an Association of the U.S. Army webinar titled “AI at the Core: Advancing Army Cyber Priorities.”

The webinar, part of AUSA’s Noon Report series, will feature Brandon Pugh, principal cyber adviser for the Department of the Army, and Lt. Gen. Jeth Rey, deputy Army chief of staff for command, control, communications, cyber operations and networks, G-6.

The event begins at noon Eastern. It is free, but registration is required here.

During the webinar, Pugh and Rey will discuss the integration of artificial intelligence into the cyber process not as an option but as a core component of the Army's future.

Pugh will share his strategic vision and policy that will secure the Army’s role as a leader in cyber and AI, while Rey will speak on the datacentric network architecture he is enabling to power AI-driven decision-making for commanders and soldiers.

In his role, Pugh is responsible for advising the Army secretary and Army chief of staff on all cyber matters, including issues of readiness, budget, capabilities and strategy. He serves in the U.S. Army Reserve as a national security law professor at The Judge Advocate General’s Legal Center and School, having previously served as a paratrooper and international law officer. He also is a nonresident fellow with the Army Cyber Institute at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York.

Rey became the Army G-6 on Jan. 1, 2025. He is the principal military adviser to the Army chief of staff and the chief information officer for planning, strategy, network architecture and implementation of command, control, computers, communications and cyber operations and networks for worldwide Army operations. A native of St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands, he joined the Army in September 1983 and has served as an enlisted soldier, warrant officer and officer, including assignments in special operations units at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, and Fort Benning, Georgia, and with the White House Communications Agency at Camp David Presidential Retreat, Maryland.
