Association of the United States Army officials announced that Amb. Ken Adelman, arms control director during the Reagan administration, has written a book titled “Reagan at Reykjavik: Forty-Eight Hours that Ended the Cold War.” Adelman is offering the book, at a discount price, to all AUSA members who submit an order prior to its May 6 publication date. Gen. Gordon R. Sullivan, USA, Ret., Association president and a former colleague of the author, called the book “fascinating” and that it describes how President Reagan's determination and vision -- with its message of ‘peace through strength’--changed the world.” Henry A. Kissinger said, “The weekend meeting in Reykjavik between Reagan and Gorbachev in 1986 marked a significant turning point in the Cold War. Adelman, an active participant in the talks and a gifted writer, has provided a thoughtful account of that episode.” AUSA members who order this book before the deadline will receive a 35 percent discount off the list price and receive a copy personally autographed by the author.
