Col. John A. Vermeesch is director of the Center for the Army Profession and Ethic. He is a former battalion commander and served two tours in Iraq. He holds a bachelor’s degree from the U.S. Military Academy; and master’s degrees from Long Island University, N.Y., and the U.S. Army War College.
