On January 8, 2023, Ariel Aponte (Immediate Past President) led the Braxton Bragg Chapter efforts by providing support to Army Recruiting, Junior Reserve Officers' Training Corps, JROTC and Reserve Officers’ Training Corps, ROTC programs and Joint Service U.S.C.G. and Navy Recruiting.  Mr. Aponte attended and provided presentations at the Elizabeth City State University Military Appreciation Basketball Game and the U.S. Army Raleigh Recruiting Battalion Oath of Enlistment Ceremony.  Approximately 500 people were in attendance, including service members from the Raleigh Recruiting Battalion, NC Navy Recruiting, U.S.C.G. Base Elizabeth City, Camden County U.S.C.G., JROTC, and ECSU ROTC.

ECSU honored Alumnus Brigadier General Richard Harrison, United States Army TRADOC J-3, and Captain William Chip Lewin, Commanding Officer of the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Elizabeth Station.
